The 10th Grade Class is putting together a CTK Cathedral School Cookbook to raise money for their Senior Trip.  Please send your favorite

recipes to Mandy Mantooth at mandy_o@suddenlink.net or give them to Mrs. Manning at school by January 15, 2008.  There are recipe forms in Mrs. Manning’s classroom, but you can submit them in any format!  The class goal is to have cookbook order forms distributed by February and in order to have the cookbooks ready in time for Mother’s Day gifts in May!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!
In the event of excessive snow and/or ice, Christ the King Cathedral School will following LISD’s school delays / school closings.  Please stay tuned to local news for delays and closings.  You will also receive a message from Honeywell’s instant alert.  “School Closings” or “School Delays” will warrant an “Emergency” message.  In an emergency, you will be alerted by phone and e-mail as you have indicated in your Honeywell set-up.   

NHS & NJHS Annual Canned Food Drive

The National Honor Society and the National Jr. Honor Society will be sponsoring a canned food drive to benefit the Catholic Family Service food pantry.  Students are asked to help serve those in need this Christmas season by providing non-perishable food items.  Look for more information from the Honor Society as the drive begins next week.

 

Christ the King Commemorative Wine

Looking for an extra special Christmas gift?  Why not give a gift that celebrates Christ the King's 50th Anniversary?  CTK 50th Anniversary labeled Llano Estacado wine is available through the school development office for a minimum donation of $20.00 per bottle. White, red, and blush wines are available.  Contact Christy Duran at the school office - 795-8283 - to place your order!

CHRISTMAS DINNER

The Christmas Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, December 13th.  Orders forms are included with today’s notes and are due next weekNo regular hot lunch will be served that day!  Families are invited to eat with their child/ren.  Please consider either joining your child that day or sending a family member or friend to eat with your child.  If that is not possible, please let your child’s teacher know in advance.  Children sometime feel left out or get their feelings hurt when they see other families eating together.  The teachers will make arrangements to eat with the children whose families can not join them.  If you purchase a lunch and find at the last minute that you will not be able to join us, please call the school office.  If you did not order a  Christmas dinner, please remember to send a lunch with your child. 

 

Yellow Dino

Students in Pre-K through 5th grades will receive Yellow Dyno training to learn skills to protect themselves from child predators.   www.yellodyno.com. 

Cookie Fridays!

Thank you all for buying our treats the past couple of months and helping the 10th graders raise money for their senior trip!  Remember the first Friday of each month is Cookie Friday!  Save up your quarters for our next cookie sale next Friday,
December 7th!  We will be selling home-baked treats after school for 50¢ per bag.

 All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast!! 

CTK high school classes are hosting a fundraiser this Sunday, 12/2, 8am-11am at the Whataburger located at 8226 University (in front of Tinseltown).  Tickets are only $3.00 each & must be purchased in advance.  Add-on items are not included in the ticket price.  Please see Mrs. Guzman in the front office to purchase tickets today or Friday.   

 

 

BASKETBALL T-SHIRTS

Basketball Season has begun! 
Show your CTK spirit with a basketball t-shirt! 

Don’t be left out of the fun!

Students will be allowed to wear this basketball t-shirt with jeans on Tuesday for spirit day in addition to the 50th Anniversary spirit shirts for the remainder of the school year.  Parents are also invited to buy & wear these special t-shirts to show their CTK support of CTK basketball!  Basketball t-shirts will be gray with a red design on the front and a list of jr. high or high school players on the back.
