First in Texas! Christ The King Cathedral School becomes an official Core Knowledge Pre-School and Visitation site.
Added JULY 27, 2007
Christ the King's preschool program became this year's sole recipient as an Official Core Knowledge Preschool & Visitation Site at the 15th Core Knowledge National Conference. It became only the sixth preschool in over 1,000 worldwide Core Knowledge classrooms, and the very first one in Texas selected for this prestigious recognition.
The Core Knowledge curriculum assesses the needs of individual students and teaches to their needs versus teaching to age-specific levels. The preschool program addresses the skills that allow children to be successful as they move into kindergarten and later grades. Autonomy and Social Skills, Work habits, Language, Mathematics, Orientation in Time and Space, Science, Visual Art, Music, as well as Movement and Coordination are all part of the extensive program.
