Updates Christ the King Cathedral School Celebrates Fifty Years of Excellence in Education October 5, 2007 Over fifty years ago, a group of forward-thinking people dreamed of a new Catholic parish and school for Lubbock. This dream became a reality in 1957 when the doors of Christ the King School opened. Built in the middle of what was then cotton fields in southwest Lubbock, the school started with 1st through 3rd grades and grew to the school it is today serving Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade students. On January 27th, we will begin celebrating Catholic Schools Week 2008, by honoring our parish, community, students, faculty, and parents.
