CTK HEALTHY KIDS
It turns out that Childhood obesity has become a national epidemic. 64% of Americans are overweight and childhood obesity has doubled in the last 20 years. This could be the first generation of American children to lead shorter lives than their parents. (can you believe this!)
CTK School would like to take an active stand on this critical issue. Our next Healthy Planning meeting will take place March 5th at 5:30 in the library. Please contact Tricia Vowels at Tricia.Vowels@dshs.state.tx.us or Patty Shipton 787-7641 if you have any questions or concerns regarding healthy planning.

Volunteer Opportunities
Home and School is still accepting nominations for the following positions:
Middle School Parent Coordinator (1)
South Plains Fair Co-Chairs (2)
CTK Sr. Scholarship (1)
I would like to invite parents and grandparents who are interested in joining the Home and School Association Board as an officer or committee chairperson. During the past year, the Home and School has made a positive impact through programs such as the Buddy & Ambassador Program for new families, teacher and parent appreciation, fundraising, Fall Festival, Christmas Toy Drive, and the Community Needs Drive
We have a really fun group of parents and grandparents who have brought many new and exciting ideas to the table. We are now looking for energetic people to fill some vacant positions. If you would like more information, please contact Patty Shipton at 787-7641 or pshipton@cmspropertiesinc.com
