Why Catholic School?

Who are we?
Since opening its doors in 1957, Christ the King school has challenged students to work toward their full potentiality. In a nurturing atmosphere, teachers and parents work cooperatively to provide a healthy, loving disciplined environment conducive to the effective integration of academic excellence, character, and faith development.

Curriculum
Christ the King School's curriculum provides an academic program of excellence firmly rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Christian faith. The school offers a challenging curriculum that is both diocesan and state approved and ranges from emergent literacy in Pre-AP & AP (Pre-Advanced Placement & Advanced Placement) classes in high school. Religion, Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science as well as classes in Art, Music, Physical Education, Spanish, Library Skills, and Computer Skills are offered. The school is equipped with two new computer labs each with Internet capabilities. For more detailed curriculum for your child's grade level, please call the school 795-8283.

Faith Development
Christ the King School teaches Judeo-Christian values in the Catholic tradition. Integrating the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, approved catechetical materials, and a variety of prayer services, we seek to bring each of our children to a personal relationship with Christ though the Church and greater Christian community. Every day begins with prayer. Our school provides daily religious instruction, sacramental preparation, and liturgical celebration. Respect and appreciation for other religious beliefs is integral to our efforts.

Extended School Day Program
The extended school day program (after school care) is provided for working parents. Rainbow’s End operates the program from Christ the King's campus Monday-Friday from 3:15 pm until 6:00 pm.

Science Fair
Science Fair is an academic requirement for every student in grades 4-12. All local winners from the school compete in the South Plains Regional Science Fair at Texas Tech University.
