Hello parents! We hope you are settling into a great school year!

On behalf of the Home & School Association, I would like to say THANK YOU for contributing to our students’ successes!

The Home & School Association at Christ the King Cathedral School & the Diocese of Lubbock Catholic High School is our version of PTA. Our main purpose is to help support school excellence in all areas, provide teachers and staff with support and appreciation, boost parent interaction and pride, and help fundraise to support CtK school progress and activities. All parents are members of this association and we rely on your help to make our events successful! It is a great way to get involved and meet new people.

If you voted in the recent survey regarding Fall Festival, THANK YOU! The results were close, 57%-43% in favor of Friday evening.  With that being said, we will hold Fall Festival on Friday, October 25th, so save the date!!

We would like to share information about some of our events with you, so you would know what to expect and when.  In the past, money that Home & School has raised has gone toward operating costs of the school, technology advancements and needed renovations for the school. This year, we are going to incorporate a few more “Free Dress” days to help benefit those committees that are vital to our school, but don’t generate much income, such as Teacher Appreciation Committee, Garden Committee and Elementary Room Parent Coordinator to help with the cost of Fun Day in May.

If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of our awesome committee chairs.  We are here to help and we look forward to getting to know you and working together with you for the success of our school.

Peace & Blessings,

Amy Blazek

Event Function

South Plains Fair

Sept. 20-28th

Every year, CTK school runs a foot-long hotdog booth during the South Plains Fair. This is the first big fundraiser for the school.

Fall Festival

October 25th

This is an event of games, food, prizes, contests … plus our popular raffle and silent auction. This is a fundraising event dedicated towards assisting the school with financial needs. We will be asking for donations for class baskets for the silent auction and donations of time to help with game booths.

Angel Workshop

The Angel Workshop helps students buy nice, low-priced Christmas gifts for their family & friends. This is a popular service that is provided to the CtK families & students.

Scholastic Book Fair

February or March

During this weeklong event, parents and students purchase books for their home, teacher or CTK library.

Pre-K/Kinder Fun Day

Students and teachers kick off the end of school with games, activities, food and fun. This event boosts moral for the students & teachers … and prepares them for the summer months.

Catholic Schools Week Dinner & Dance

This event, hosted by the Teacher Appreciation committee kicks off Catholic Schools Week and is a celebration of our teachers and staff. The annual “Big Raffle” is held at this event and we welcome all parents to come share in a fun evening.

Room Parent Coordinator and Room Parents

Year long

Room parents’ work side by side with teachers & staff to ensure that the kids have a wonderful year filled with fun activities and parties. Room parents are the event planners for the classroom parents & teachers. They will coordinate baskets for fundraising efforts, parties, Fall Festival booths and much more.

Box Tops

Collect all year

This is a great way to help CTK obtain items teachers & students need.

Parents & students can collect these labels and turn them in.  There is now an app to scan the receipts and you no longer have to “clip” Box Tops.

Garden Service Days

Come learn how to grow your own food while maintaining the outdoor

education areas for the school. Work changes seasonally, but we are always learning and love to send produce home with those who come.

Thanks for giving

Year Long

In the past, we have collected money for our faculty and staff to present to them at Christmas time.  The idea is to distribute funds between ALL faculty and staff.

Year Long

Families are encouraged to purchase gift cards through our Scrip program. Each retailer gives a percentage back to CtK. An easy way to raise money for our school.
