56 students in 5th-12th grades participated with hundreds of students from around the South Plains and Panhandle area at this year’s regional science fair held at Texas Tech University’s United Supermarket Arena on February 7th.  CTKC & DCHS students received 45 blue ribbons and 11 red ribbons as well as 29 special awards and several scholarships.  23 students in 6th-12th grades qualified to compete at the Texas State Science & Engineering Fair in March at Texas A&M University in College Station. Two students, senior Stephan DeLuna, and junior Colby Sandoval, received bronze International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) medals in the physical and biological divisions, respectively.  Sophomore Mac Chaloupka received a gold ISEF medal for the second consecutive year and will represent the South Plains at the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Anaheim, California in May.
