Here at Christ the King Cathedral School, we know that students need some time to rest and relax during the summer; however, we also know that students who do not read during this time may fall victim to learning loss known as “summer slide.” Therefore, we require summer reading of all incoming 4th-12th grade students, as well as accompanying assignments. Click on the appropriate grade link for your assignment. Most assignments are due the first day of classes or shortly after school starts!
This is an incentive only Summer Reading Program for all Pre-K through 12th grade students. All students are encouraged to read over the summer and can bring completed reading logs to school during summer office hours for a prize and new reading logs. We will post names of students returning reading logs on the school’s social media. Awards will be given for most books read in each grade level when students return for the new school year in the fall. All reading logs are due no later than August 16th to qualify for incentive program. Summer office hours are 8am-noon, Mondays – Thursdays. The school will be closed the week of July 1st.
